Help! I Regret My Tattoo

Help! I Regret My Tattoo

Technology has changed a lot about our lives — and tattoos are no exception. While getting inked used to be a lifelong choice, today’s laser technology has changed the game. In fact, laser tattoo removal has gotten so good that it can remove virtually any tattoo.

If you’re living with a tattoo you wish was gone, don’t wait to talk to Nikunj Patel, MD, FACC. At Neosculpt Laser Vein & Cosmetic Surgery Center in Abilene, Texas, he specializes in tattoo removal using the latest laser technology.

To figure out how you could get rid of that unwanted ink, let’s go through a quick overview of the process.

How laser tattoo removal works

To get rid of your tattoo, Dr. Patel uses a specialized laser platform from Quanta called the Q-Plus C laser. With this technology, he can choose from three distinct wavelengths of laser energy.

That matters because it’s the laser’s wavelength that gets rid of the ink in your tattoo. Dr. Patel directs a specific laser wavelength into your tattoo, adjusted to target specific colors in the tattoo.

Then, the pigment in the tattoo absorbs the laser energy based on its color. This absorption heats the pigment so much that it eventually causes it to shatter. At that point, the particles of pigment become so small that your body can naturally flush them out.

With different wavelengths at his disposal, Dr. Patel can target a variety of colors, giving you the best results possible.

Deciding if tattoo removal is right for you

If you’re tired of living with your tattoo, talk with Dr. Patel about it. He can help you determine if you’re a good candidate for tattoo removal.

Most people are. Because we use the latest tattoo removal lasers, we’re able to help people with a broad variety of tattoo types. Generally, newer, larger, and multi-colored tattoos are harder to remove. But that usually just means more tattoo removal sessions in order to get your ideal result.

To clear away your tattoo while preserving the health of your skin in the area, we perform tattoo removal over multiple sessions. We have you wait 6-8 weeks between sessions so your body can flush out the treated pigment and heal the skin there.

The number of sessions you’ll need depends on your tattoo. A conversation with Dr. Patel can let you know what to expect and if this process is right for you.

Your ink doesn’t have to be forever. To find out what tattoo removal would look like for you, don’t wait to call Neosculpt Laser Vein & Cosmetic Surgery Center or request your appointment online today.
