Vaser Shape Q & A

What is cellulite, and why is it so hard to get rid of?

Cellulite is the term used to describe lumpy areas of dimpled flesh most often found on your abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and hips. It isn’t a medical condition, but for many women, it’s a serious aesthetic concern.

Researchers aren’t sure exactly what causes cellulite but believe that a combination of genetic and lifestyle choices play a role. Women are more likely to have cellulite than men, and your risk also rises if you are overweight or obese.

Cellulite is difficult to treat because it’s created by fibrous connective “strands” that adhere your skin to your muscle tissue. Fat cells are found between your skin and muscles, and they can push against your skin in-between the strands. That’s what gives cellulite its uneven, bumpy texture.

Some men and women can reduce the appearance of cellulite through rigorous diet and exercise, but others have noticeable dimples regardless of how fit and tone they become. The multitude of creams and other topical treatments can’t change cellulite because they do nothing to address the tissue bulging that creates a dimpled texture.

What is Vasershape?

Vasershape is a cellulite reduction treatment that combines the power of ultrasonic therapy and massage. It is noninvasive and requires no anesthetic or downtime.

During treatments, your provider glides a special handpiece across the treatment area. Ultrasound energy beams gently warm the layer of fatty tissue that lies beneath your skin.

Vasershape can treat fatty tissue that lies between 1-5 centimeters below your skin’s surface.  Next, a vacuum-assisted lymphatic massage works to help your body metabolize and drain the treated fat cells.

Treatment sessions usually take no longer than 30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Many men and women notice results after their first session, but you’ll likely need several treatments to see optimal results. Your total treatment time may span 3-5 weeks.

Is Vasershape painful?

Vasershape treatments are not painful. You may notice a sensation of warmth during your sessions, as well as the same sort of pressure that comes with a deep tissue massage.

There’s no need for any special preparation, nor any type of anesthetic. You’ll be able to return to your normal daily routine immediately after your treatment.
